Initial Deposit Bonuses or Sign-Up Bonuses at Sportsbooks
These are bonuses that are offered to new users of a site. In the majority of cases you’ll receive a percentage of the initial deposit in bonus money. This bonus amount will usually be somewhere between 10% and 100% of the deposit. However, although the money is immediately credited to your account, the money is not actually yours yet – meaning that you’ll not be able to withdraw these bonus funds. To withdraw you’ll have to meet the rollover requirement – this being the number of times that you have to wager the total amount of both your initial deposit and the bonus funds.
For example, you might make a £100 deposit at a site which offers a 50% initial deposit bonus with a 4x rollover. This means that you’ll have to wager £600 (£150 x 4) at the site before the funds are actually yours
No Deposit Bonus
Occasionally you’ll find a site that allows you to gamble for money without actually depositing any funds to the site. These no deposit bonuses will generally be very small – it would be surprising to see this type of bonus exceed £15/$20. Additionally, the rollover requirement for this bonus type will usually be much larger than others.
Free Bet Bonus
This is where a site will offer you a free bet based upon the size of your initial deposit – usually a matched bet meaning that it will be the full 100% of your deposit size. This free bet will not usually include the stake, so if you were to deposit £30 for example and back an even money shot, you would win £30 on the bet but not the £60 you might expect to receive on a normal £30 even money bet. Free bets are not only offered as deposit bonuses. Many sites will give out free bets as part of a promotion.
Reload Bonuses or Standard Deposit Bonus
These bonuses will be available to existing members of the site. Some sites will offer these as standard, some will offer them seasonally, while others will offer bonuses to individuals via e-mail. In most cases, these reload bonuses will be smaller in size than the initial deposit bonuses. These will also be subject to a rollover.
Cash Back Bonuses
A small number of sites will offer players a percentage of their losses back on certain market types. This is particularly the case at US friendly sites for users who enjoy gambling at the race book.
